Trying to conceive can
be a trying time.

For too long, this mental toll hasn’t had the attention it deserves. A Trying Time is a research study and movement designed to change that.

For World Mental Health Day, we commissioned a national survey that investigated the preconception experience, gaining insights on the mental burden carried by those who are, or have been, navigating the ‘trying phase’.

Our goal? To lower these stats and help more women feel seen, understood, and supported.

Here's what we found

We can all try...

Anxiety and overwhelm are the emotions most felt by women in this period. But connection with family and friends is reportedly the most valuable support. So it seems simple acts of connection could be the antidote to these stats.

By sharing this research, we hope to see fewer women feeling isolated during their fertility journey. Through simple acts of connection – like checking in, offering a meal, or just being there, we can make a real difference.

What Can I Do?

It's time to share the stats, break the silence, and show support to women trying to enter motherhood.

Reach out to support a friend

Even before they ask. Even if they don’t know how to talk about it. If you know someone is trying, show support by asking how they’re going, cooking a meal, sharing a gift, or just being there.
